NITI Aayog to establish 1,000 new innovation labs this year

The NITI Aayog is all set to open 1,000 new Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) to facilitate innovation in schools this year all across India. With the setting up of these, the count of total labs will shoot up to about 1,500. The schools which will house these labs will receive a grant of ₹20 lakh each to provide proper facilities and infrastructure. New Delhi, (Jun 16): NITI Aayog will set up 1,000 Atal Tinkering Labs(ATL) in various schools this year under a mission aimed at fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in the country.   The Aayog , last year, had selected 457 schools to set up Atal Tinkering Labs under the Atal Innovation Mission(AIM). NITI Aayog to set up 1,000 labs in schools under Atal Innovation Mission

New Delhi: The founders of three start-ups have expressed interest in mentoring students under the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog chief executive officer Amitabh Kant said on Friday.   The three are Paytm’s Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Ola’s Bhavish Aggarwal and Oyo Rooms’ Ritesh Agarwal.
