How 3D Printed Surgical Guides Improve Brain Surgery

How can 3D printing make a difference in the efficacy and impact of brain surgery?

The answer can be found at the University of Malaya’s Center for Biomedical and Technology Integration (CBMTI). They’re creating lifelike multi-material biomodels using Stratasys 3D Printing technology, simulating endoscopic neurosurgical procedures, which can change surgical planning and training landscape. Using Stratasys Objet Connex500 and Objet Eden 350 3D Printers (, CBMTI produces models that feature different textures and densities over the surface and throughout the interior, simulating human body parts accurately, efficiently and cost-effectively creating realistic models.
